Project Overview: Somutech has developed a Sleep Improvement Program that combines wearable technology, sleep screenings, and a sleep-well intervention into a sleep coaching program that provides customized and targeted actionable items for improving sleep health. A unique, wearable sleep tracking device is needed to fully utilize the potential of the Sleep Improvement Program.
Summary Statement of Project Goal: The project team will develop a prototype for a sleep tracking (actigraphy) device that has:
1. Accuracy of a medical grade device.
2. User ability and consumer focused of lower grade devices (Fitbit, Jawbone Up etc.).
3. Unique features able to track additional sleep focused biometrics (pulse, pulse oximetry, cortisol).
Project Deliverables:
1. Project plan delineating milestones, deliverables, and working budget (first month).
2. Research current technology and determine several options, style and possible features (End of 1st semester).
3. Determine final design.
4. Design documentation.
5. Working prototype by end of the semester.
Management & Communication Expectations:
1. WBS and schedule from start to finish project. Updated twice monthly.
2. Monthly meetings with sponsor.
3. Status reports weekly.
